Media & Production Partners Wins Boating Industry of Australia Account

Media & Production Partners (MPP), a full-service agency specialising in media planning, buying and production services, has been appointed to handle the NSW business for the Boating Industry Association (BIA).

MPP and digital agency Search Insights pitched together to give the BIA a full-service offering from offline, online, data and analytics to creative solutions.

MPP/Search Insights will be only the third agency the association has had in over 20 years. The account was previously held with Blue 449.

The BIA represents the recreational boating industry, with its members covering all aspects of manufacturing, wholesale and the retail of products and services. The association’s charter is to represent its members to various stakeholders including government.

It also concerns itself with the promotion of safe recreational boating, and its flagship consumer event is the Sydney International Boat Show. This show is one of the largest boat shows in the world, with 60,000 people expected to attend over a five-day period.

MPP’s first major task will be to deliver a far-reaching and well-targeted campaign for the upcoming Sydney International Boat Show in August when the event will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The activity will include multiple touch points across TV, print, radio, out of home, social and online media to raise awareness that the show is back in Darling Harbour at the new ICC Sydney facility.

Domenic Genua, national marketing and events manager at BIA, said: “Whilst the Sydney International Boat Show is known and respected internationally with a long history of success, our achievements have been because we ensure the team we have working with us carry the same passion we do.

“The team at MPP showed that they had a clear understanding of our vision and end goals, and demonstrated their appreciation for what was needed to achieve the desired end result.”

MPP managing director Jimmy Hyett said: “The BIA has a long history, an exceptional product and a passionate team, which makes them a dream client to work with.

“Our in-depth process and focused approach to our planning has had amazing responses from clients like the BIA. Our success has come from our desire to deliver a combination of small agency service and big agency results.”
