ACA Reporter Ben McCormack Arrested Over Alleged Child Porn Offences

A long-time reporter on Nine’s A Current Affair, Ben McCormack (pictured above), has been arrested and is expected to be charged over alleged child pornography offences after police raided Nine’s headquarters in Willoughby this morning.

McCormack was arrested at his home in Sydney’s inner-city this morning and taken to Redfern police station.

It has been reported that McCormack’s computer was seized in the police raid on Nine’s offices.

As previously reported, Nine was aware of the police investigation and had co-operated with the raid this morning.

Nine’s news and current affairs director Darren Wick confirmed to staff that officers from the New South Wales police have been at the network’s Willoughby offices this morning.

“I can confirm that officers from the New South Wales police have been at TCN (Television Corporation Nine) this morning investigating matters relating to a staff member at A Current Affair,” Wick wrote in an email to staff.

“It’s a personal matter that does not relate to the program or Nine. We are co-operating with the police. However, we are not in a position to comment any further as this is an ongoing investigation.” More to come…
