OMD Unveils New Charity Initiative

OMD Australia has officially launched a new charity initiative called OMDonate, a committee which brings OMD’s charity work across all its offices under the one banner.

The creation of OMDonate will strengthen the ongoing commitment of OMD, its staff and senior leadership to make a real, measurable and positive long term impact on the wider community.

Aimee Buchanan, OMD Australia CEO, commented “As an agency we’ve always spent time supporting charities, whether through assisting them our skills or raising funds for good causes from OMD staff. OMDonate will bring more focus to this area and deliver improved outcomes from our staff and the charities we work with.”

In partnership with industry foundation, UnLtd, the OMDonate Sydney team has announced the Pyjama Foundation as their principal charity partner. Through its network of Pyjama Angels, the Pyjama Foundation empowers children in foster care with learning, life skills and confidence to change the direction of their life. OMD Sydney worked with the Pyjama Foundation in 2016 for its National Pyjama Day. The agency was able to raise over $1.6m in media value with help from its industry partners.

Bronwyn Sheehan, Founder of the Pyjama Foundation, says, “We were totally ecstatic when UnLtd introduced our organisation to OMD. OMD were incredibly  passionate, enthusiastic and professional to engage with. What they achieved in a relativity short time frame was nothing short of outstanding. The contribution of 1.6 million dollars’ worth of promotions is something that we could have only dreamed about. We are now receiving regular donations via our website and have doubled the number of new volunteers coming our way. Thank you OMD, we look forward to continuing our partnership.”

The OMD Donate team in Melbourne will continue its incredible work will the Salvation Army, The Click Foundation and Smiling Minds, whilst the Brisbane team will all also continue its partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia.
