The Project’s Carrie Bickmore & Tommy Little To Share Drive Radio Slot With Hamish & Andy

The Hit Network has confirmed that The Project co-host Carrie Bickmore will return to the radio waves in 2017 alongside colleague and comedian Tommy Little.

The network said in a statement that Bickmore and Little will host a new daily show starting on Monday 13 February, which will be broadcast across 43 stations nationally from 3pm.

Bickmore started her radio career on Perth’s Hit 92.9 FM in 1999, and worked on-air for almost 10 years before joining Channel 10’s The Project as co-host.

Commenting on her new role, Bickmore said she was very excited to be returning to radio.

“I love that immediate interaction you get with listeners and the unpredictability that comes with it,” she said.

“I am really looking forward to having some fun talking about the things I’m passionate about and find amusing.”

Joining Bickmore will be comedian Tommy Little, who also has experience in radio and in working with the Gold Logie winner on The Project.

“I can’t wait to return to radio with my mate Carrie. She is the best,” Little said.

“She’s caring, lovely and professional. I plan to be the opposite of those things. We’re going to have a lot of fun together.”

The Hit Network’s head of content, Gemma Fordham, said the new show will compliment Hamish & Andy well in the drive slot.

“The first time I met Carrie, I was immediately struck by her ‘realness’ – there are no airs and graces with her,” Fordham said.

“She calls it as she sees it, but has enormous compassion and can connect with everyone from everyday Aussies out in the suburbs to Hollywood megastars. I think that’s why the nation has taken her in to their hearts – people know they are getting the real deal with Carrie.

“Tommy is one of the best comedians out there. He owns the room with his stand-up comedy and media appearances, and is one of the most exciting performers going around right now.
