“It’s The End Of Democracy!” Scream The Chaser on Abbott’s Demise

Overnight saw the Australian political landscape shaken up as Malcolm Turnbull, former Communications Minister, ousted Tony Abbott.

We went to funny-men Craig Reucassel and Chris Taylor from The Chaser to get the lowdown on what the new Prime Minister shuffle means for the Aussie media.

However, Reucassel was rushed off his feet.

“I would love to comment but I’m too busy calling Alan Jones and screaming about the end of democracy,” he said on the fly.

“I prefer the good old days when if you didn’t like a Liberal PM you had the decency to just get them kidnapped by a Chinese sub.”

We’ve not heard back from Taylor yet, so perhaps he really is too busy.

The leadership change-up is reminiscent of what happened with Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard back in 2010.

However, both Gillard and Rudd have expressed their congratulations to Turnbull.
