Peter Cornelius Joins Media Benchmarking Firm Ebiquity

Peter Cornelius has been appointed director of client service – media for Ebiquity Australia and New Zealand.

Announcing the appointment, Richard Basil-Jones, CEO of Ebiquity commented, “We are excited to have Peter joining our organisation during a significant growth stage for Ebiquity in the region. He is a highly respected media and marketing professional with over 30 years’ experience in the Australian media advertising industry.”

Cornelius’ career includes senior management roles in leading media agencies and running Australia’s largest media research business. Most recently, he established his own media consultancy – Cornelius Media Pty Ltd, operating under the marketing umbrella of Kinesis Media. This involved working with clients on a variety of consultancy projects helping them navigate through the changing world of today’s dynamic media landscape.

Prior to this he was managing director of media for Nielsen Australia and NZ. This involved managing the company’s media measurement and advertising information services and dealing with advertisers, media companies, media agencies and industry bodies at the highest levels.

Previous to Nielsen, Peter had a long career with the George Patterson Bates agency group culminating in being one of the founders of Zenith Media and rising to managing director and chief negotiating officer. Zenith at the time was Australia’s largest media agency and responsible for handling the media responsibilities of many of the country’s largest advertisers

“The constant in Peter’s career has been building and running successful media industry organisations, managing client relationships at senior levels and maintaining a respected industry profile. Peter will ensure our clients achieve continual improvement with their advertising investments by providing greater clarity in a complex and less than transparent landscape,” Basil-Jones summarised.

Commenting on his appointment, Cornelius said, “I’m delighted to be joining Ebiquity and having worked with them on the Ad Monitoring side of their business, I’ve come to greatly respect and appreciate the services they provide. With my background in media agencies, a major research company and having the opportunity to independently work with clients in my own business, I’m really looking forward to working with Ebiquity’s existing and potential new clients to help them add value to their media investments”.
