Wednesday TV Wrap: The Block & The Bachie Enjoy A Tight Tussle

The Bachelor was back last night and Matt and the ladies managed to pull a respectable 735,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Its return also managed to take a little gloss of The Block which, despite being a little down, still won the battle of the entertainment shows with 886,000 viewers.

Nine won the night with 28 per cent audience share (all channels). Seven wasn’t far behind with 26.2 per cent. 10 did well with 21.5 per cent, the ABC had 16.6 per cent and SBS did 7.7 per cent.

Seven had the most watched show of the evening, its 6pm news bulletin doing 1.037 million. Other highlights for the network were Home And Away (656,000), The Chase (601,000), Highway Patrol Special (439,000) and The Martian (330,000).

10’s highlights included The Project (533,000), My Life Is Murder (392,000) and 10 News First (386,000).

Nine did well with its 6pm news (912,000), ACA (784,000) and Hot Seat (526,000).

In the battle of breakfast, Sunrise (287,000) ate Today (222,000).

The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (621,000), Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (611,000), Hard Quiz (590,000) and 7.30 (567,000).

SBS’ best was Tony Robinson: Egyptian Tomb Hunting that did 230,000.
