Thursday TV Wrap: Seven Romps Home On The Back Of The AFL

Last night’s Port Adelaide-Geelong AFL match didn’t just prove a winner for The Cats (112 to 91) it also helped broadcaster Seven to a handy Thursday night win pulling 568,000 OzTAM metro viewers.

Seven easily won the night with 33.9 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine was a distant second with 22.9 per cent, 10 snuck home for third and 17.9 per cent, the ABC did 17.3 per cent and SBS had to settle for just 8.2 per cent.

Seven also landed bragging rights with the top show of the night – its 6pm news bulletin pulling 1.023 million OzTAM metro viewers.

10’s MasterChef was the only reality TV show airing and it cooked its way to 556,000.

Best for Nine was its 6pm news bulletin (1.013 million), followed by ACA (733,000), Hot Seat (580,000) and RBT (415,000).

Seven also did well with The Chase (505,000) and a disappointing Home And Away that only did 444,000.

Other doers for 10 were The Project (440,000) and an improving 10 News First (417,000).

Over at the national broacaster, the ABC’s best was its 7pm news bulletin (788,000), 7.30 (550,000) and Foreign Correspondent with a neat 400K.
