After a two-year hiatus the 62nd TV Week Logie Awards have been given the go-ahead on Sunday, June 19, at The Star Gold Coast Entertainment Resort precinct, metres from the glorious beaches of Broadbeach.

Following two years of postponement resulting from the global pandemic, the TV Week Logie Awards will make its long awaited return at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre within The Star precinct, and is set to showcase all the action, glamour and excitement synonymous with Australian television’s night of nights on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the return of the Logies was a major milestone in the recovery of Australia’s burgeoning screen sector.

“Queensland is the home of the screen industry in Australia,” the Premier said.

“It’s great to have the Logies back on the Gold Coast in 2022 – our third time hosting television’s night of nights. I can’t imagine the Logies being anywhere else.”

Fiona Connolly, group publisher at Are Media, said, “We are thrilled that the TV WEEK Logie Awards are back in 2022 and we can’t wait to head to the Gold Coast to celebrate and honour the best in Australian TV. It’s sure to be an unforgettable night!”

Managing director of Nine Queensland and Nine Northern NSW, Kylie Blucher, said, “We are delighted to have the return of the TV WEEK Logie Awards on the horizon again for what is shaping up to be a bigger and better event in celebration of Australia’s hard-working television industry.

“After a rough start to the year for Queensland it’s a great opportunity for us to come together while at the same time showcasing the Gold Coast and our wonderful state.”

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said, “Like that great Simon and Garfunkel classic, the Logies are homeward bound and back where they belong. I can’t wait to catch up with the stars of Australian television and to remind them why we are the most exciting destination in the country – and home to the 2022 Logies.’’

COO The Star Gold Coast Jessica Mellor added, “The Star welcomes the Logies back in 2022 as a celebration not only of the best of Australian television, but also of the Gold Coast and The Star precinct and all that it has to offer – it truly is our home of entertainment”.

The Queensland Government, via Tourism and Events Queensland, is proud to support the TV Week Logie Awards which features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.

The TV Week Logies Awards is also proudly supported by Major Events Gold Coast. The TV WEEK Logie Awards will be broadcast on Channel 9 and 9Now on Sunday 19 June.
