When a TikTok featuring a Brisbane couple, Rex and Jess Ablett, referencing The Coffee Club in their wedding vows landed in the inbox of founder John Lazarou, The Coffee Club immediately launched into action.

With Rex vowing to take Jessica to “every Coffee Club restaurant in Brisbane”- and if they live long enough – “every Coffee Club venue in Australia,” – it has become The Coffee Club’s mission to make this a reality.

Bringing Jess Ablett in on the surprise and delight tour, The Coffee Club has organised a string of dates at various restaurants, which has even included a two year wedding anniversary dinner, on the Brisbane River at Eagle Street Pier with a musician and even a fireworks display.

John Lazarou said: “I was just bowled over to think that someone is going to include The Coffee Club in their vows, I saw the humorous side, but then it really touched my heart that this brand, these products, the whole experience, truly means something to this couple.

“I love the fact social media allows us to find out who is celebrating, and in which store, so that we’re able to foster authentic experiences that are bespoke for customers engaging with us.

“We’re humbled that this couple has used our brand in their vows, and I’m sincerely proud that we’re making these incredible memories for them.”

The couple, who have been together for seven years and now have a baby girl, said the experience has been incredible.

Jess Ablett, said: “I just don’t think anything could ever live up to that anniversary dinner from The Coffee Club.

“The fireworks. Wow. It was funny because I saw the lights turn off, and I thought we might get a cake with sparklers, which we ended up getting, but actually our own fireworks, I was blown away, I just couldn’t believe it.”
