Subway has kicked-off summer with a bang, releasing a cheeky set of sandwich-themed swimwear and a enormous footlong floatable.
Last December, the sandwich brand teamed up with Budgy Smugglers to create footlong and six-inch cossies. The tongue-in-cheek swimwear has since been selling like freshly baked Subway bread, with some of TikTok’s most famous stars rocking the sandwich-themed togs on social media.

By popular demand, Subway has created the ultimate pool-toy as the perfect accessory to show off the new Budgy Smugglers.
From February 1, Aussies can spend their summer days floating on a giant, 3 metre long inflatable footlong Sub, or rather, try and cling onto the monstrous sandwich.
Other major brands have since followed suit by releasing their own summer merch, a move which Subway head of marketing, Rodica Titeica, said is the purest form of flattery.
“We love seeing other brands jump on the Subway Summer bandwagon. Why not? The more the merrier,” she said.
“But we think this year’s hottest item has to be our Floating Footlong – it’s seriously huge! Nothing can compete with the massive famous Subway Footlong sub, no matter how hard others try.
“We are always looking to make people smile and after another emotional rollercoaster of a year peppered with lockdowns and border closures, we want to help make people’s summer just a little bit more enjoyable with family and friends. It’s a bit of fun.”
The sandwich artists have been seen pushing the envelope in their latest stunts to make even the most serious of Sallys crack a smile, with their giant, floating Sub Boat that invaded Australian waters earlier this year.
Subway fans can purchase Footlong Meatball and Six-Inch Teriyaki Chicken Smugglers until sold out, with Footlong Inflatables available to purchase from February 1.
