Snapchat Unveils Headspace Collaboration As It Launches ‘Minis’

Snapchat has officially launched its new partnership with meditation app Headspace.

The new feature allows Snapchat users to access expert resources related to emotional and physical wellbeing, while also offering daily meditations and tools.

The Headspace collaboration marks the beginning of Snapchat’s Minis partnership, first announced at Snap Partner Summit last month.

Snap Minis are utilities designed to integrate within conversations on Snapchat, meaning friends can participate in activities such as Headspace mediation sessions together.

Snapchat has also launched other Minis including; ‘Let’s Do It’ to help friends make a decision as a group, ‘Prediction Master’ which serves a wide range of timely questions and ‘Tembo’ which creates flashcard decks.

Speaking about wellbeing, Snapchat said the aim is the help users of its platform feel better and call on their friends for support.

“Snapchat is deeply committed to the wellbeing of our community,” the company said in a statement.

“From the beginning, our goal was to give Snapchatters a place where they felt comfortable expressing themselves with their close friends and finding support.

“We have a deep and guiding belief that technology should be designed for humans — not the other way around. Our core innovation, ephemeral messaging, reflects that approach — encouraging the kind of natural, spontaneous conversation people have with their close friends in real life.”
