Salmat CMO Sarah Pike Resurfaces At MasterCard

Sarah Pike has nabbed a new role as the head of marketing at MasterCard Australasia, joining the team following more than a year in the same role at Salmat.

B&T understands that Pike kicked off her new Sydney-based gig in July, as she brings over 20 years’ experience in the digital, technology, telco, media & retail sectors to the company.

During her time at Salmat, which began in April 2015, Pike’s experience in building brands played a critical role in driving the creation of a clear framework for innovation in products and services, as well as driving all marketing activity across the company.

Prior to this, Pike worked as the vice president of product marketing at Optus, stepping into the role from VP consumer broadband. During her time at Optus, Pike was responsible for establishing new thought platforms to challenge Telstra and position Optus as the alternate brand of choice, doubling sales volumes in eight months.

Speaking to B&T, Pike said, “I am thrilled about the move to Mastercard, and excited to be joining a cutting edge payments technology business at a time of so much industry change and opportunity.

“I had a great experience at Salmat but was keen to move back into more of a client-side role across both consumer & business marketing.

“I am excited to be a part of the continued evolution of the renowned Mastercard Priceless brand platform, delivering leading global payments technology to customers and businesses.”
