Pulp Fiction Fans Rejoice! Samuel L Jackson ALMOST Reprises Jules In Oddball Spot For Warburtons Bread

Here at B&T (well, for the over 35s anyway) the general consensus around the very possibly, greatest movie ever is an almost unanimous tick for Tarantino’s 1994 ripsnorter Pulp Fiction.

So, you can only imagine the excitement around B&T towers today with the arrival of a new bread ad. Although that does sound like an oxymoron.

To clarify, British baker Warburtons has enlisted none other than Hollywood superstar Samuel L Jackson (AKA Pulp Fiction‘s very own Jules Winnfield) to star in its latest campaign promoting its Toastie Loaf.

Warburtons has a long history of BIG budget ads and recently managed to talk none other than Robert De Nero and George Clooney to spruik its loaves.

The brand’s CEO, James Warburton, also uses his advertising to wonderfully take the piss out of himself. As is again the case in this Samuel L Jackson spoof.

The ad’s the work of creative agency London-based Joyful & Triumphant and will bring a misty, nostalgic tear to the eye of any Pulp Fiction fan (although you do have to watch closely for the innumerable references). However, if you’ve never seen the lauded cinematic masterpiece, the ad will possibly make no sense whatsoever.

And as Jules Winnfield famously said, “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.” Although B&T appreciates that has zero to do with bread.

Watch the spot below and, thankfully, no one gets shot or ends up in a Gimp-like sex session…

Commenting on his Warburtons debut, Jackons said: “It was a pleasure to meet the man at the helm of Britain’s biggest family bakery. And what an honour to follow in the footsteps of Bolton alumni, George Clooney and Robert DeNiro. We had a lot of fun on set so I hope people enjoy the finished product – the ad and Toastie Loaf!”

Warburton’s CEO Jonathan Warburton  added: “Samuel L Jackson was a pleasure to work with and is welcome back at our bakeries any day. Not many people can be that commanding and so charming at the same time, and I love his hilarious take on why our Toastie loaf is the real deal.

“Quality will always be at the core of our fifth-generation family run business, and our new ad highlights this commitment to freshness and quality in all that we bake.

“Inviting the big-screen hero of Samuel L Jackson into the business was a uniquely memorable experience, and we hope to bring some light-hearted humour to viewers at home – while reminding the nation that our Toastie truly offers our customers the best of the best.”
