Newsreader Remains Cool As A Cucumber During 6.5-Magnitude Earthquake That Killed 16

An unnamed Pakistani newsman has become a viral hit after he barely blinked an eyelid during a 6.5-magnitude earthquake.

On Tuesday night, the earthquake struck Afghanistan and Pakistan, killing at least 13 people and injuring 300.

The cool-as-a-cucumber chap was reporting the news for Pashto TV channel Mahshriq in Peshawar when the quake hit. As he calmly carries on, TV sets in the background can be seen wobbling, the desk sways and colleagues make a mad dash for safety.

Video of the incident has since gone viral, with many praising the man’s cool demeanour.

“Incredibly brave of him to keep his calm and carry on doing his job,” wrote journalist Natiq Malikzada.

“Kept his cool all along, what a pro,” wrote Dawn news journalist Zoheb Ahmed Majeed.

Still, had it have been B&T, we’d have been cowering under the desk in a flash. Watch the wobbles below:
