News.com.au Continues To Lead For Unique Online Audience: Nielsen Data

News Corp Australia’s news.com.au has come out on top once again for unique audience figures in the online news category for March, according to the latest monthly Nielsen Digital Ratings data.

The data revealed that 13.5 million Australians went online for their news and current affairs information during March – up 2 per cent on March 2016.

Accessing content via a desktop remains the main method for access of this content – up 4 per cent.

Seven of the top 10 entities in the current event and global news sub-category increased unique audiences in March compared to the previous month, according to the Nielsen ratings.

The data also revealed that the number of Australians accessing content online is nearing 20.1 million.

Access via smartphone is a key driver of that growth, with smartphone unique audiences reaching 14 million in March 2017 – up 6 per cent versus the same month in the year prior.
