New Liberal Ad Gets Mercilessly Mocked For Using Fake Tradie

A new Federal Election ad from the Liberal Party has been torn apart by the very people they’re trying to reach – tradies – with a mocking rampage unleashed.

The ad stars a peeved tradie drinking a cup of coffee on a job site, telling viewers that Shorten  “wants to go to war with someone like me, who just wants to get ahead with an investment property”, but it hasn’t had it’s desired effect.

Similar to this disastrous ad that saw the US butcher the Aussie accent, the Libs have missed the mark on this one:

The ad has been mocked on social media, while some of the major unions have pointed out the tradie is in fact just a paid actor.

His worksite was also mocked for its inaccuracies, with one user asking, “Why is his saw-stool set up in a lane outside the fencing? And who has a ceramic cup on a building site?”

Expressing the deep, deferent love that ordinary, working class people have for multinational banks. #faketradie pic.twitter.com/5c53TWQjDp

Fair dinkum @vanbadham , I was just having smoko when a bloke asked for a quote. Why can’t we have a #faketradie if we’ve got a #fakeleader

Rewatching #faketradie. Amazing how awful his delivery is. And they left in a stumble. “War on ou- my bank”.

Just a knockabout bloke who loves a multinational bank and a negative gear.
And a war. #faketradie pic.twitter.com/PHEaFm4J6H
