GroupM Nabs OMD’s Nathan Young For Chief Growth Officer Role

Departing OMD CEO Aimee Buchanan may not take up her new job as GroupM boss until November, but it looks like she’ll be bringing some Omnicom staff with her on her move over to her new WPP digs.

News today that OMD’s chief operating officer Nathan Young will be following Buchanan from their Pyrmont digs across the Bridge to North Sydney to take up the role of GroupM’s chief growth officer.

Young has been with OMD for six years, starting as business development and marketing director in 2015, moving through up through the ranks before becoming appointed COO in May 2019.

OMD are yet to name replacements for either Buchanan or Young.

Commenting on Young’s appointment, a GroupM spokesperson said: “We continue to expand our expert capabilities as we evolve our business and shape the next era of media. Nathan’s extensive experience in commercial strategy, business operations and transformation, exceptional client and team management skills make him perfectly placed to join our team in GroupM and work closely with our agencies.

“Nathan brings with him over 20 years’ experience, both agency and sales side, and will be a fantastic addition to complement our teams. We are thrilled to welcome him in Q4.”
