Ferrari Drops Glorious New Spot & It’s An Absolute Car Lover’s Dream

In the market for a new Ferrari? Well, be prepared to sit on a 18-month waiting list for the latest model to arrive in Australia and that’s just the $400,000 entry point for the cheapest model.

The famous Italian marque deliberately caps the models it makes to give the brand extra cachet, with a mere 8500 models rolling-off its Maranello production line last year. About 250 new models are sold in Australia each year.

So, with demand outstripping supply you’d reckon the brand could afford to be pretty parsimonious with its marketing spend.

Which makes a glorious ad that dropped for the incredible-looking 812GTS model yesterday all the more surprising.

There’s a two-and-a-half minute version of the spot and a longer nine-minute version and, as you’ll probably never get behind the wheel of one, the ad’s probably about as close as most of us will ever get to drive one.

The new 812GTS is being touted as the most powerful road car ever built thanks to its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre engine pushing out 789 horsepower and a massive 718 Newton-meters (530 pound-feet) of torque.

But be warned: the base mode for the 812GTS is believed to cost $US400,000 ($590,000); however, it’ll be higher again given Australia’s luxury car tax.

Anyway, check out the glorious spot below while feeling a little deflated in the process.

    1. A Ferrari poster, which must be close to 40 years old, still has one of the best lines have seen. A beautiful product shot of the 308, which was (still is) a sensational looking car when first launched. Plus a headline:
