Yesterday Nine announced a two-part dramedy about Shane Warne’s life, and his daughter has already taken to social media to slam it.
Despite the big announcement, the mini-series called Warnie is still tightly under wraps. So while Nine announced its existence yesterday at the upfronts, it didn’t reveal who would be starring in the series or even give away what part of Warne’s life the series would focus on.
Hours after it was announced, Warne’s daughter Brooke Warne took to her Instagram stories to slam Nine’s plans to immortalise Warne’s life via a mini-series.
The Guardian reported that she wrote: “Do any of you have any respect for Dad? Or his family? Who did so much for Channel 9, and now you want to dramatise his life and our family’s life 6 months after he has passed away? You are beyond disrespectful.”
Warne did have a working relationship with Nine and often showed up on the network to offer commentary on cricket.
Warne passed away earlier this year and is very much missed not just by his family but by Australia.
