A Japanese ad for jewellery has come under scrutiny online for the bizarre way the model is holding her oboe.

The anatomically mind boggling ad was seen by a music shop called Meridian Winds, who shared it to their Facebook page with the caption “there are no words”.

While the pose does show off the model’s rings, the marketing is largely undermined by her bizarre grip on the oboe.

According to ClassicFM, the advert’s text roughly translates to “a fancy diamond…colourful treasure collection”.

The ad has sparked bemusement online, with various commenters on the Facebook post joking about it.

One wrote, “using her feet would be easier” while another simply said “that looks painful…”

However, one user did point out that “Jimi Hendrix played the guitar backwards, so…”

Perhaps this new handling will be the next big thing in the oboe community?
