Apple Australia is celebrating the marriage equality vote in a new TVC to promote the launch of its latest X smartphone.
The ‘First Dance’ campaign, which is part of the brand’s ‘shot on iPhone X’ series, features real-life same sex couples getting married. The ad, the work of Apple’s Aussie agency TBWA\Sydney, is set to a cover of the INXS classic “Never Tear Us Apart” and sung by Courtney Barnett.
The new campaign comes three months after Australia voted “yes” to same-sex marriage and ahead of the 40th anniversary of Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade this weekend.
Interestingly, like similar ads around the world, the ad never actually shows an image of the iPhone, only announcing at the end that it had been shot on an X. Check it out below:
