Highway Patrol was Monday evening’s most watched entertainment property, pulling in 1.111 million viewers to Seven.
At 7.30pm Highway Patrol beat the first episode of Nine’s The Big Bang Theory (736,000), Ten’s Modern Family and the ABC’s 7.30 (772,000), according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.
Seven won the night overall, taking a combined 28.9% share of all free-to-air viewers with 21.4% for its main channel.
Nine followed with a total 27.1% share and 19.3% for its primary channel. Nine News was Monday night's most watched show (1.151 million) followed by Seven News (1.133 million).
Nine’s line-up of American sitcoms performed well with 996,000 viewers for the evening’s second episode of The Big Bang Theory, 873,000 for the third and 721,000 viewers for 2 Broke Girls.
On the night it fast-tracks Homeland from the US Ten had only one top 20 show, Ten Eyewitness News (648,000).
Ten won a total 17.4% share of all viewers, with 10.3% for its main channel.
The result put the commercial network behind the ABC which won a combined 22% with 16.1% of that going to ABC1.
The ABC’s most watched offering was ABC News (882,000) followed by Australian Story (880,000).
SBS was left with a total 4.5% share with 3.7% for SBS ONE.
