House Rules beats 2013 debut

Seven’s House Rules has started off stronger than it did in 2013, with 1.183 million viewers tuning in to the network’s renovation reality show.

House Rules won its 7.30pm timeslot last night and was the second most watched show of the evening behind Seven News (1.216 million), according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The result is better than House Rules 2013 debut which saw it attract only 803,000 metro viewers.

Last night’s turnout for House Rules is also not far off last year’s season finale when it won an audience of 1.873m people.

While House Rules did win its timeslot last night Nine’s The Big Bang Theory wasn’t too far behind with 1.180 million viewers.

After a short break Puberty Blues returned to TV screens last night and won 529,000 viewers.

Seven won the night overall with a combined 32.9% share of all free-to-air viewers. The network’s primary channel took 23.5%

Nine was in second place on a total 29.9% with 21.8% going to its main channel.

The ABC beat Ten to third place with a total share of 17.4% compared to Ten’s 15.5%.
