‘The Battle of Kolsch’

‘The Battle of Kolsch’

‘The Battle of Kolsch’ launched yesterday and plays upon the fact you can't make Kölsch beer outside of Cologne.

However, by removing the umalout (the o with two dots above it; ö), you can indeed create Kolsch beer.

The TV and radio spot was produced by Heckler for company 4 Pines Brewing Co. in Sydney via Dentsu Australia.

“It’s been refreshing to be allowed to have lots of fun at someone else’s expense – namely the brewers of Cologne,” Pete Ogden, Dentsu Australia’s creative director, said.

“It’s also been great keeping our relationship going with Heckler and Nylon, who once again have delivered above and beyond what was called for.”

The spot takes you back to the war times with its black and white footage, before outlining how the removal of the umalout makes the production of Kolsch beer in Australia feasible.

The campaign will feature across online, radio and print.
