Lingerie football's State of Origin heads to 7mate

Scantily clad females fighting over a ball are set to beamed into living rooms by 7mate after Seven signed exclusive broadcast deal with the Legends Football League.

Seven’s digital channel will broadcast all eight matches of the new Australian women’s gridiron competition.

The Legends Football League (LFL) is the local equivalent of America’s Lingerie Football League.

There is a large local audience ready to embrace the sport, according to LFL Global’s founder and chairman, Mitchell S. Mortaza.

“We were simply limited as to reaching a wider national audience, this partnership with 7mate opens the door to developing the next big Aussie sport,” Mortaza added.

The first match is scheduled to premiere on December 14 at 10.30pm with LFL Australia’s ‘State of Origin’.

Seven Network’s head of sport Saul Shtein said: "The LFL has developed a great fan base here in Australia and we feel 7mate is the perfect fit from an audience perspective for this emerging and entertaining sport.”

There are four state clubs set to play in the local LFL premiere season including: the Western Australia Angels, Victoria Maidens, New South Wales Surge and the Queensland Brigade.
