Aimee Buchanan steps up as GM of OMD Sydney

OMD has promoted Aimee Buchanan to the newly created role of general manager of the Sydney agency.

Buchanan (pictured), former global business director for the Tourism Australia (TA) account and business intelligence director on Telstra, will also join the OMD national executive team.

As a result of Buchanan’s promotion Angela Swayne will take over as global business director on the TA account.

Buchanan’s new role will see her oversee key accounts, including Telstra and TA, but will now take on a broader operational remit.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Peter Horgan, chief executive of OMD Australia, said:  “Aimee is an outstanding operator. The skills she has demonstrated across Tourism Australia and Telstra will deliver great benefit across the agency and her expanded client base.”

On Swayne’s promotion Horgan added: “Angela has been a pivotal member of the OMD family over the last 7 years, she is the perfect candidate to continue delivering business results for Tourism Australia.”
