10’s Christmas Party Axed, While Nine & Seven Party On Down Following Bumper Year

10’s Christmas party has been axed this year while FTA rivals Nine & Seven are treating employees to fabulous festive send-offs.

B&T understands that 10’s Christmas party has been canned, although the reasons why are unclear. According to reports, the decision came from US parent company Paramount.

Meanwhile, Nine (including its TV, radio and newspaper operations) held its Christmas celebrations in Sydney at the Ivy – including a performance by Delta Goodrem – while Seven is hosting Christmas parties across the country with a Great Gatsby theme.

News that Network 10 isn’t having a Christmas party this year comes after the network came fourth in the ratings race for 2022. The network was beaten out for the third position by ABC Network. Seven won in total people, and Nine took out the demos.

It is an interesting move by the network not to give staff a festive farewell. Particularly when you consider this year, the industry has been eclipsed by stories of being in a talent crisis and dealing with the great resignation.
