Brisbane Billboard Hacked In Bonking Bonanza

Hackers took control of a digital billboard in Brisbane alongside one of the city’s busiest roads and, naturally, swapped the ad for the front page of P*rnhub.

The billboard was run by Goa, Brisbane’s roadside billboard network which has more than 70 spots across south-east Queensland.

Drivers on Milton Road would have been shocked to see the lewd content on Sunday for a three-minute period. Goa said that it has provided police with images of people who “may be able to help with their inquiries.”

Within minutes of the breach, the company said it began an immediate shutdown and investigation.

“No other screen in our network was affected in any way; all continue to operate as scheduled,” the company said in a statement. “Apart from this one-off incident, the rest of our internal transmission systems, including security systems, were not breached in any way.

“The police have been informed and are treating it as a serious matter. We retain video recordings which include imagery of individuals that may assist police in their investigations.”

“As a family‐owned business that has operated in Brisbane for in excess of 50 years, no manner or format of pornography is acceptable. It is totally inconsistent with our company values and within the community in which we operate,” a Goa spokesperson told Mumbrella.

“The public transmission or proliferation of any material of a p*rnographic nature is abhorrent to Goa and all of our people. We regret the offence or distress that this may have caused to members of the public who evidenced this transmission.

“We are particularly conscious that this may have included children and adolescents.”

Reddit users, however, generally saw the funny side of the breach.

Of course, it is important to remember that exposing children and other adults who have not consented to viewing p*rnographic material is a crime. It is unclear whether Goa will be liable for the breach. The company also said that it had implemented further security measures last night.
