Triton Podcast Ranker: Casefile True Crime Is Still El Hefe In Aussie Podcasting

Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime has yet again scored first place in Triton Digital’s Australian Podcast Ranker for February 2022, cementing its position as top dog in the Australian podcasting realm for the fifth month running.

Over five new episodes, the stalwart mystery program scored 892,436 monthly listeners and 2,111,858 monthly downloads, beating runner-up for the second month in a row, Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne which recorded 601,089 monthly listeners and 1,807,602 monthly downloads.

However, one of the biggest head-turners came from ARN/iHeartPodcast’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show which jumped three places in February to finish with bronze, notching 490,166 listeners and 2,211,182 downloads in the process.

Schwartz Media’s 7am absolutely steamrolled its way into the top five, jumping 17 places since January to finish with 381,538 listeners and 1,400,730 downloads. The news and current affairs podcast finished short of the fourth-placed Stuff You Should Know, which was another win for ARN/iHeartPodcast.

Previous top dogs in LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy dropped a further two places to sixth in February, while Nova Entertainment’s The Update slumped four places to seventh.

However, it wasn’t all doom-and-gloom for LiSTNR, with It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield jumping an impressive five spots to claim eighth place, while iHeartMedia’s She’s On The Money climbed four spots to round out the top ten.

Overall, ARN/iHeartPodcast yet again retained it’s spot as Australia’s top podcast publisher with 4,029,366 monthly listeners, and a walloping 18,018,027 monthly downloads.

Meanwhile, LiSTNR climbed two spots to take the silver, just ahead of Audioboom, which maintained third place once again.

“We’re thrilled to retain the number one spot in the Podcast Ranker for the 22nd consecutive time,” said ARN head of digital audio, Corey Layton.

“2022 is off to a strong start for ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia, as we continue to provide the growing audience with the best local and global shows. We have lots of exciting content to come in 2022 that both our audience and clients will love.”
