“Scroll On!” Instagram Quietly Axes 15 Minute Daily Minimum Limit & Expands It To 30 Minutes

London, UK - July 30, 2018: The buttons of the photo app Instagram, surrounded by WhatsApp, Facebook, Messages and other apps on the screen of an iPhone.

Instagram has changed its minimum daily limit option from 15 minutes to 30 minutes, so let the scrolling begin.

According to Tech Crunch, the app owned by Mark Zuckerberg has removed the option of 15 minutes and bumped it up to 30 minutes.

However,  if you already have your minimum set to 15 minutes, it won’t automatically be changed but you might be prompted to reevaluate your minimum. And if you do choose to increase your minimum daily limit, you won’t be able to go back to the 15-minute option as it no longer exists.

So hold onto your daily limits!

The minimum daily limit was originally implemented to push forward more mindful use of social media apps and assumedly in response to reports that social media can be unhealthily addictive.

Honestly, if you have an Instagram account, there’s a high chance you’ve wasted time scrolling through your feed mindlessly.

So having the option to set a low limit really was a good way for people to keep track of their scrolling.

Sadly, if you need the daily limit to step in to stop you from stalking your ex-boyfriend’s best mate’s cousin. Then you’ll now have to wait a whole 30 minutes for the app to remind you to log off and get back to reality.
