Crazy Frog Set To Be Reborn For The TikTok Generation – Penis And All!

Crazy Frog Set To Be Reborn For The TikTok Generation – Penis And All!

For those old enough to remember, one of the enduring cultural icons of the noughties was a CGI amphibian called Crazy Frog whose highly-addictive tune sold millions and became the must-have phone ringtone of the time.

Also known as the Annoying Thing, Crazy Frog was marketed by the ringtone provider Jambal! while his version of the theme from Beverly Hills Cop (by artist Axel F) topped the charts around the globe, including here in Australia.

And now Crazy Frog’s record company, Sony Music, has announced plants to bring the famed frog back with a new single due out the 10th of December that’ll have a heavy focus on young, TikTok users. What’s more, he’s set to return as nature (or the animator) intended – with a penis.

According to Sony, the original Crazy Frog tune from 2005 (which you can watch below) has now been viewed more than three billion times, making it YouTube’s 19th most popular video in the platform’s history.

Speaking to the BBC, Sony’s president of A&R, Wolfgang Boss, said: “When we started Crazy Frog, there was no TikTok, it didn’t exist. But right now TikTok is super important. It’s basically the number one platform for people to share new music and funny things connected with music.”

With the comeback, “the new video will have the Crazy Frog like he was originally meant – with a penis,” said Boss.

The original Crazy Frog actually sported genitals, however, they were edited out after he was initially banned in the US and the UK following a flood of complaints from concerned parents.

In anticipation of his December return, social media users appear far more interested in Crazy Frog’s penis than his new song. Check out some of the responses below:
