Roger Waters, co-founder of Pink Floyd, said he refused to give Mark Zuckerberg the rights to use hit song Another Brick in the Wall (Part Two).

Waters was speaking at a pro-Julian Assange event when he said that he had been offered a “huge, huge amount of money” for the use of the 1979 hit in an ad for Instagram.

He then said, “the answer is: fuck you. No fucking way.”

Reading out a section of the alleged letter, he quoted, “we want to thank you for considering this project. We feel that the core sentiment of this song is still so prevalent and necessary today, which speaks to how timeless your work is, truly.”

Waters then added, “and yet – they want to use it to make Facebook and Instagram even bigger and more powerful than it already is.”

He also claimed that Facebook was censoring the Julian Assange story “getting out to the general public.”

Waters was recently involved in a clash with David Gilmour, his former Pink Floyd bandmate. He accused Gilmour of preventing him from accessing the official Pink Floyd website or social media.
