OMD Wins Canva

OMD has today announced their appointment as media agency to Canva. Founded in Australia in 2013, Canva is a visual communications platform whose mission is to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere. Canva is now used in over 190 countries and boasts over 55 million monthly active users.

Canva exemplifies the future of workplace collaboration, a future that has been accelerated by the pandemic as organisations around the world have shifted to online environments. The company has recently been valued at $19.3 billion AUD ($15 billion USD), making it one of the world’s fastest growing private tech companies.

OMD Sydney will be responsible for media strategy, planning and buying for Canva.

Aimee Buchanan, CEO, OMD Australia, said “We are thrilled to be working with Canva as they begin to focus on the Australian market. Canva’s core values are closely aligned to our own values, particularly around empowering others and making the world a better place through positive actions, inclusion and diversity. We look forward to strengthening these ambitions together through our partnership.”

Laura Nice, managing sirector, OMD Sydney, added “We are so excited to welcome Canva to the OMD family. We look forward to seeing the partnership of Canva’s data-driven approach powered by Omni, OMD’s people-based precision marketing platform, at work as we help Canva connect with Australians.”

Zach Kitschke, chief marketing officer, Canva, said “As the world becomes an increasingly visual place, almost every profession now needs to create engaging visual content. We’re excited to expand our partnership with OMD and pursue our crazy big goal to empower the world to design.”

Welcoming Canva into the OMD Sydney office caps off a successful start to the year for OMD Australia following their appointment of the Victorian Government account in March.
