Bird Shits On Channel Nine Reporter’s Head, Carries On Like Consummate Professional

A young Channel Nine reporter has shown the zeal and gusto required to reel in the big stories after being shat on by a bird during a live cross and not even skipping a heartbeat.

Young cub reporter Reid Butler was reporting from out the front of Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station about a potential COVID transmission in the Victorian capital, that included a train from the suburb of Craigieburn.

However, Bulter’s important PSA was soon interrupted by an unidentified bird – possibly piegon – who proceeded to poo across the young reporter’s hair and down the back of his suit.

But, proving Nine breeds ’em tough, the young scribe soldiered on despite the faeces deluge.

The live cross then cut to a video package played in the studio, which gave the camera man an opportunity to help clean up Reid for when they would be live again.

Butler shared his mishap on Twitter and wrote: “First and hopefully last time I cop a face full of bird poo midway through a @9NewsMelb live cross.”

He then added the old grandma superstition that being pooed on by one of our feathery friends is actually good luck.

“Going to buy a lotto ticket. Also, camo Trav is a legend for cleaning me up while the grab was playing.”

However, it’s not the first time young Butler has been targeted in an unwanted turd attack.

In October last year he shared a similar incident that left his nice blue suit with a rather unwanted white stain. Let’s hope he’s not reading any Alfred Hitchcock books. Check it out.
