IKEA Goes Cirque Du Soleil In Simply Magnifique New Spot To Flog Its Kitchens

Ikea Canada has called on one of the country’s most famous exports, Cirque du Soleil, to create a new campaign promoting its kitchen range.

The minute-long film is called “Scrap du Soliel” – a reference to both the high-flying Montreal-based entertainment troupe and scraps of food that shouldn’t go to waste.

It’s the work of creative agency Rethink who enlisted veteran Cirque du Soleil choreographer Lydia Bouchard to work with two professional dancers, Véronique Giasson and Rahmane Belkebiche.

Rethink shot the spot on a full kitchen and living room set inside a large convention centre space – which also helped with social distancing for the crew – and removed the ceiling to allow for the apparatus that lets the dancers fly.
