Monday TV Wrap: The Bachelorette’s Return Gives The Block A Knock

10’s returning The Bachelorette debuted to 628,000 last night according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Certainly okayish numbers, but what the dating show did do was pinch Block viewers. Nine’s reno programme could only rally to 744,000 last night.

Nine narrowly won the night with 26.8 per cent of the audience share (all channels). Seven was inches behind with 26.4 per cent, 10 did 21.4 per cent, the ABC had 17.5 per cent and SBS managed 7.9 per cent.

Over at the ABC, Hard Quiz wasn’t as dominant as it has been, posting 643,000. While Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell did 542,000 and Planet America had 401,000.

In the battle of the news bulletins, Seven’s posted 1.029 million, Nine did 898,000 and the ABC’s 7pm outing had 656,000.

ACA did 708,000, 7.30 pulled 561,000 and 10’s The Project did 491,000.

Other notables for Seven included Home And Away (595,000), The Chase (535,000), two episodes of Highway Patrol (435,000 and 410,000 respectively) and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (357,000).

Over at Nine Hot Seat posted 440,000 and Australian Crime Stories did 358,000.
