Kylie Jenner Roasted For Aussie Flag Fail

Kylie Jenner Roasted For Aussie Flag Fail

While the Australian flag might be an important symbol for us Aussies, for the rest of the world, it looks confusingly similar to a number of other flags.

New Zealand, the Cook Islands and Fiji are just some of the nation states that have a similar blue ensign with the Union Jack in the upper corner.

These designs have led many to confuse the Australian flag, including Instagram influencer and member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan Kylie Jenner.

Last week, Jenner posted to Twitter about her new Kylie Skins websites, which are launching for the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Australia.

Accompanying each regional website link, Jenner used a flag emoji to indicate each respective country.

Unfortunately for Jenner, she used the flag emoji for little-known British overseas territory South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands – which is another flag with a striking resemblance for the Aussie flag.

And while it was a relatively small blunder in the scheme of things, many were unhappy with Jenner’s apparent lack of attention to detail.

“Hi Kylie, my team wants to let you know that, that is not the Australian flag. My team also wants to let you know that if you type the word “Australia” in your phone the Australian flag will automatically come up,” said one Twitter user.

The awkward moment when she has a management team going over her tweets and even they can’t get the Australian flag right,” said another.

“We beg of you to get the flag correct, before even considering to post a tweet! It’s pretty easy to go onto google and see what #australianflag looks like,” said another.

Despite the backlash, Jenner has not taken down the Tweet, nor has she corrected herself.
