What A Whopper! Macca’s Sues Hungry Jack’s Over Lookalike Burger

It’s the fast feud to end all fast feuds as McDonald’s takes burger rival Hungry Jack’s to federal court over its ‘Big Jack’ burger.

McDonald’s is claiming the ‘Big Jack’ infringes on its ‘Big Mac’ trademark, while also looking strikingly similar in ingredients.

McDonald’s APAC filed documents on August 28 accusing Hungry Jack’s of promoting its new Big Jack burger in Australia which is “substantially identical with or deceptively similar” to its Big Mac trademark.

The fast good giant says Hungry Jack’s is acting in “bad faith” after the Big Mac trademark has been associated with McDonald’s for decades.

McDonald’s is asking for confirmation Hungry Jacks’ infringed on its Big Mac trademark and that Hungry Jack’s no longer uses and cancels the Big Jack trademark

Hungry Jack’s has not filed a defense.
