Apple Set To Bundle Subscription Services

Apple Set To Bundle Subscription Services

Apple is set to start bundling its subscription services together, according to a new report in Bloomberg.

Known internally as ‘Apple One’, the new service is set to launch this October, in line with the upcoming iPhone launch.

There will be a number of different tiers according to the reports, with the basic package including Apple Music and Apple TV+ and more expensive versions featuring the likes of Apple News+ and Apple Arcade gaming.

The more expensive bundles could also include extra iCloud storage.

The bundles are set to be marketed towards families, with the aim of creating more recurring revenue for the company that relies so heavily on iPhone sales.

It will also serve as a way for individuals to save some money when using Apple services.

“For example, if a family subscribes today to all of Apple’s major services plus the highest iCloud storage tier, that would cost about $45 a month. A new bundle could knock more than $5 off that,” the Bloomberg report states.

The launch of Apple One is also set to see Apple launch into another lucrative vertical – fitness.

The Bloomberg report suggests Apple is currently working on a new subscription service for virtual fitness classes available on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, codenamed ‘Seymour’.

If Apple is to successfully launch into the fitness space it could seriously challenge the likes of Peleton and Nike, which both offer virtual classes.

Upon news of Apple One, Peloton’s shares slipped in premarket trading on the US stock exchange.
