Sunday TV Wrap: Ninja Clambers Over The Million-Mark

Last night’s Australian Ninja Warrior crept back over the million-mark, pulling 1.098 million viewers for broadcaster Nine.

Tonight will feature its second part to its finale, while a two-part special event, Australian Ninja Warrior: State of Origin, begins next Sunday.

Ninja was the best of last night’s entertainment shows according to OzTAM metro numbers. Seven’s Farmer Wants A Bride did 814,000, while 10’s Bachelor In Paradise finale limped to 480,000.

Nine won the night with 32.6 per cent of all of last night’s eyeball’s (all channels). Seven had 26.3 per cent, the ABC took third with 18.7 per cent, 10 was fourth with 14 per cent and SBS had 8.4 per cent.

In the battle of the news bulletins, Seven’s 6pm outing was impressive, posting 1.274 million. Nine’s news did 1.136 million, the ABC’s 7pm bulletin had 780,000 and 10 News First did 312,000.

60 Minutes posted 613,000, while Seven’s re-hashed Seven News Special – Anita Cobby didn’t excite too many viewers – it only managed 297,000.

10’s The Sunday Project pulled 439,000.

In the battle of the footy codes, Seven’s AFL did 433,000 and Nine’s NRL did 273,000. But again, these numbers don’t include paid subscriptions or viewers watching in pubs and clubs.

The ABC’s Sunday night of drama continues to do well, Vera posting 708,000 and Shetland doing 609,000.
