Rumour Has It James Corden Will Replace Ellen If She Steps Down

Rumours are flying in left right and centre about what may happen to the Ellen DeGeneres Show following multiple allegations of a “toxic” workplace culture.

Last week it was reported there is currently an investigation under following a string of articles that included allegations from current and former show employees of mistreatment and discrimination.

And now people are already speculating about the outcome, including rumours of a new host should DeGeneres get the boot from her own show.

While DeGeneres addressed the issue in a letter to the show’s crew last week, it appears the industry is wasting no time coming up with names of possible host replacements, including James Corden.

Page Six and The Sun have reported an insider source said Corden has always been in the running to replace DeGeneres.

“Replacing Ellen was always going to be a tough challenge, but he is a natural fit and easy transition,” the TV insider told The Sun.

“James and his team have been trailblazers in modern TV, taking the once considered graveyard chat show slot into a cutting edge format with huge online, social media and global recognition.

“In five years, he went from unknown to A-list star and creative.”

While it’s just a rumour at this stage, people have already taken to Twitter to air their thoughts

Many people suggested replacing the first openly LGBTQ+ women on national TV with a straight white man missed the mark.

Others said Corden already had his own talk show, which would need a new host.

There has been nothing confirmed that DeGeneres is actually leaving her show, and everything is pure speculation at this point in time.
