ABC Comic Unveils Riotous “The Ballad Of Bunnings Karen”

Judging by B&T’s website traffic, THE story of last week was the angry woman who refused to wear a mask at her local Melbourne Bunnings store.

The woman – whose real name is Kerry Nash – quickly got labelled the “Karen of Bunnings” and managed to get media coverage as far away as the UK and the US, as well as a bollocking from local police chiefs and politicians for her stance.

Not wanting to let it go, the ABC comic Sammy J has lampooned the incident, releasing his very own “ballad of Bunnings Karen” in the form of a Banjo Paterson poem.

Posted to the ABC’s Facebook page, the spoof piece comes with the disclaimer “Sorry to all the nice Karens out there”.

J’s poem mostly found fans online, however, one dissenter posted: “Don’t have an issue with wearing a mask. But DO have an issue with BULLYING. Maybe your funding should be cut.”
