Eagled-Eyed Viewer Spots TV Reporter’s Cancer Lump

A TV reporter in Florida has taken to Twitter to thank a viewer who emailed her with concerns over a lump on the journalist’s neck.

Victoria Price, an investigative reporter for WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida, promptly booked an appointment with her doctor and found out the lump was cancerous.

She wrote on Twitter: “A bit of ~personal news~ to share. Turns out, I have cancer. And I owe it to one of our wonderful @WFLA viewers for bringing it to my attention. I’ll be off work for a bit after tomorrow, but I’ll see y’all soon.”

She also included a selfie where she pointed to the lump on her throat.

She added via a statement: ‘”8 On Your Side” isn’t just a catchphrase at WFLA. It’s our cornerstone. But the roles reversed when I found a viewer on MY side, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Price said the viewer emailed her last month and said the lump on her neck reminded the viewer of her own, which turned out to be cancer.

“Had I never received that email, I never would have called my doctor. The cancer would have continued to spread. It’s a scary and humbling thought.

“I will forever be thankful to the woman who went out of her way to email me, a total stranger.”
