Meet The Women Leading Tech: AKQA Junior Digital Designer Sarah Sweeney

Working as a designer with AKQA, Sarah Sweeney spent 2019 working on the Officeworks account.

Here she was given the task of implementing efficiencies and adjusting processes to improve the impact of final creative as part of the ‘Go to Market’ project.

As well as producing the creative, this project also involved a refresh of their entire email suite and a resulting new design system.

Sweeney worked closely with developers, campaign managers, producers, client partners and the Officeworks client, to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiencies.

These opportunities were a combination of refreshed internal processes, and taking opportunities with the client to educate and empower their thinking.

While implementing these efficiencies, Sweeney also worked to help upskill and educate the client wherever possible.

Additionally, she has made sure to always explain the ‘why’, rather than simply correcting or instructing.

This was done with the belief that it is beneficial to have a client that appreciates, respects and trusts the work of an agency.

Looking forward, Sweeney is learning new skills such as HTML, animation, motion design and user research.
