Tuesday TV Wrap: Turnbull Gives The Project Its Best Numbers All Year

It appears Australia can’t get enough of its disgruntled ex-prime ministers, with Malcolm Turnbull’s appearance on The Project last night giving the current affairs show its best numbers all year.

Following Monday night’s tell-all on 7.30 that pulled 940,000, Mal was back on 10 last night flogging his memoirs and being very open about his post-dumping depression. Viewers lapping it up with some 610,000 tuning-in (according to OzTAM metro numbers).

Meanwhile, in telly’s other current ding-dong, Lego Masters (1.035 million) continued to eat away at 10’s MasterChef (908,000).

Seven’s House Rules: High Stakes continues to struggle, posting just 502,000.

Nine comfortably won the night with 29.7 per cent of all audience eyeballs (all channels). Seven had 24.1 per cent, 10 did 20.5 per cent, the ABC had 16.5 per cent and SBS just missed a rare double-digit with 9.2 per cent.

Viewers still appear hungry for CV-19 news with all the nightly news shows doing well. Seven’s 6pm news (1.258 million) led the way. Nine’s version had 1.148 million, ABC’s 7pm slot posted 912,000 and 10 News First pulled 505,000.

ACA did 864,000 and 7.30 had 695,000.

Other highlights for Seven were Home And Away (672,000) and The Chase (676,000).

Nine’s Hot Seat enjoyed 565,000 and The Castle did 518,000.

Over at the ABC, Foreign Correspondent managed 577,000 and Catalyst reeled in 378,000 viewers.
