Radio Station Forced To Apologise After C-Bomb Fiasco

[B&T advises that this article deals with vulgar language that some readers may find offensive] Adelaide’s NOVA 919 has issued an apology after an announcer went precariously off-script during an ad placement earlier this month.

The incident was uncovered by the ABC’s Media Watch this week.

While spruiking an ear-piercing deal at beauty salon Essential Beauty, the announcer chose to use some rather coarse language.

“Mutilate those little c*nts beyond recognition with double operators and minimum fuss,” the announcer said.

Essential Beauty confirmed to Media Watch this was not the intended wording of the ad, with CEO Matthew Katalinic telling the show he was “very disappointed” with the incident and apologised to any listeners who may have been offended.

NOVA also responded, with a company spokesperson offering a sincere apology the offensive ad.

“This is inexcusable and we have taken urgent and serious action,” the station said.
