Wednesday TV Wrap: Bachelorette Starts Cookin’ For 10, As Gruen Believes Its Own Advertising

10’s The Bachelorette is nearing its finale and, as these things tend to do when the dud dudes get culled, viewer interest appears to be ratcheting up.

Last night’s episode fell just shy of the 700,000 mark according to OzTAM metro numbers and was the second most watched entertainment show of the night.

Yet again, The Block (811,000) saw off all-comers and was the best non-news show of the evening.

The ABC’s Gruen continues its 2019 purple patch, it was Aunty’s best last night with 648,000.

Nine snuck home for a Wednesday night win last night with 28.2 per cent of all the eyeballs (all channels). Seven did 26.5 per cent, 10 had 18.8 per cent, the ABC pulled 17.4 per cent and SBS did 9.2 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm was the evening’s best performer with 897,000 viewers. the network also did well with Home And Away (559,000), The Good Doctor (484,000), The Chase (507,000), Motorbike Cops (498,000) and Highway Patrol (490,000).

Other highlights for 10 included The Project with 500,000, 10 News First (299,000) and Playing For Keeps (274,000).

Nine’s 6pm news did 816,000 and ACA had 760,000. Hot Seat managed 471,000.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (253,000) continued its slow roast of Today (201,000).

Over at the ABC, Gruen posted 648,000, the 7pm news did a neat 600,000, 7.30 had 556,000, Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery pulled 479,000 and Frayed enjoyed 333,000.

Best for SBS was Years And Years with 189,000.
