Virgin Australia Magazine’s Unveils First Issue With Hardie Grant Media

Today, the first edition of the new Virgin Australia Magazine will be available on Virgin Australia flights, marking a refreshed look and content strategy led by new publisher Hardie Grant Media.

The NT’s Kakadu takes pride of place as the cover story, followed by an interview with Darwin-born actress Miranda Tapsell, heralding the new magazine’s focus on celebrating the very best of Australia – whether it be destinations or local guides.

The editorial team, which includes editor-at-large Georgia Rickard, editor Krysia Bonkowski and art director Dan Morley, brings with it a wealth of experience within the travel and lifestyle industries and is dedicated to providing content that is dynamic, exciting and purposeful to readers in print and digital.

Along with a fresh new look for the magazine, the revised direction also boasts environmental credibility with a fuel saving to the business delivered by the reduced number of pages.

Hardie Grant Media managing director, Nick Hardie-Grant commented: “We’re really proud of the new look and feel for the Virgin Australia Magazine.

“Many months of planning and a lot of hard work has gone into the final product and we think it’s got something for every Virgin Australia guest.

“At the same time we’re also shifting to a much more integrated content strategy in line with changing audience behaviour, and it’s been amazing to have so much buy-in from the whole Virgin Australia team.”

Virgin Australia general manager, marketing, Michael Nearhos said that the new magazine had a uniquely ‘Virgin’ perspective.

Nearhos said: “We are focused on making our guests’ onboard experience as enjoyable as possible.

“With the engaging, relevant, and imaginative content in the new magazine, we are sure it will inspire our guests to travel to even more destinations across our Virgin Australia network.”

The Virgin Australia publishing and sales contract also includes media sales in print, with Hardie Grant Media partnering with Virgin Australia’s internal advertising sales team to deliver commercial results for the magazine.

The Virgin Australia editorial team is based out of the Sydney office with the commercial staff working across both Sydney and Melbourne offices.
