Wagering giant Tabcorp has confirmed the appointment of Luke Waldren as its executive general manager of customer and marketing.

Waldren joins Tabcorp from Sportsbet, where he has worked since April 2014, most recently as its general manager of marketing.

Prior to that, Waldren held the roles of CEO and managing director at Grey, and was Ogilvy’s MD for almost four years.

The appointment of Waldren is one of three for Tabcorp’s new wagering and media leadership team, following the betting company’s merger with Tatts.

Other EGMs appointed include former Australian Turf Club CEO Darren Pearce, (EGM of media and international) and former Ladbrokes trading director Andy Wright (EGM of wagering).

A Tabcorp spokesperson told B&T: “Luke will play a key role in helping the wagering and media business as it positions itself for growth in this new era, and delivers on its ambition to be loved by punters and embraced by partners.”
